Hello Gururs,

We are in the process of Migrating Db2 to oracle. From the application changes perspective, we have three batch cobol programs that will run on mainframe and just does simple extracts.

I have been thorugh this forum. I got very good info, but kept me in a dilemma.

How to connect to Oracle (Oracle is in Solaris Box) to keep the cobol programs executing in Batch on mainframe and the data will be extracted from the Oracle on Solaries?

The complie procedures, any special control card statements that needs to be provided for precompilation? What are all the software/drivers that are required to install and where those software needs to be running (On Mainframe or on the unix)?

How to invoke the drivers?
How to execute the cobol programs accessing oracle?
Do we get any documentation on the process and the procedures regardning accessing the oracle database?

Your help will be greatly appriciated.

Thanks,
Salauddin
