Hi,
On one of the database AWR retention period is 8 days but I see the data in dba_hist_active_sess_history older than 8 days from 15.04.2014 and in dba_hist_snapshot corresponding snap ids are not available. In dba_hist_snapshot snap ids are available only from last 8 days.
My problem is that for the month of Apr-2014, I am unable to generate AWR and unable to findout the performance bottlenecks.

Could you please advise the difference between snap ids dba_hist_snapshot and dba_hist_active_sess_history?
Why previous snap ids are not available?

Kindly suggest and please educate me.
Thanks in advance!

Regards
Ind
